Executive

Chetta Sinclair, President

Resolves organizational issues that arise between Board meetings or when the Board does not convene. It provides the evaluations review of the BOMA Association Executive and is responsible for the Association’s long-range planning. The Committee members are the President, Vice President/President-elect, Secretary/Treasurer, and Immediate Past President.

                   


Membership

Lesa Stewart, President-Elect

Identifies, interests, and nominates individuals for membership through a coordinated program of activities, and has as its purpose the increase of membership and member retention.



Communications

Chair

Evaluates correspondence (stationary, and newsletter) by collecting, compiling, evaluating and publishing data to improve information contained on the website and newsletter. Execute BOMA strategic marketing goals set forth by the Board of Governors. Promote BOMA Sacramento as a leading source for local commercial real estate industry news and education.



Government Affairs

Advocacy is one of the core values of BOMA Sacramento’s mission. BOMA Sacramento works vigorously to protect the interests of our members as the regulatory and legislative leader in the commercial real estate industry. Our mission is to monitor, influence and communicate to our members all regulatory and legislative actions that could impact members through local, state and federal government. To accomplish these goals, we rely on strong grassroots efforts with engagement from our members. The Advocacy commitee represents BOMA Sacramento on the BOMA Cal Board.



Education

Chair

Enhances the level of professional knowledge available to members, sponsors informative programs on new and relevant information or topics of interest, and actively works to facilitate and encourage participation in BOMA programs.



Allied Steering Committee

Provides an information source to Principal members to increase their expertise and awareness of products, services, trends, and developments from Allied members’ industries, and creates a forum for information flow from Principal members to Allied members.

 



Energy and Environment committee

Our mission is to educate our membership and facilitate best practices for energy efficiency, recycling solid waste & hazardous waste disposal, water conservation, integrated pest management, indoor air quality, sustainable transportation, environmental responsible purchasing practices, sustainability, education and certificates.


Careers in Commercial Real Estate

Melody Thebeau, chair

The objective of the Careers in Commercial Real Estate Committee is to foster professional growth of new industry leaders. BOMA Sacramento is proud to offer annual scholarships for those interested in a career in the commercial real estate field. There are two types of scholarships available. Professional scholarships are available for working professionals interested in joining BOMA Sacramento and/or interested in taking BOMA educational courses. Student scholarships are available for students enrolled in college level Real Estate courses.


Emergency Preparedness

The goal of the Emergency Preparedness Committee is to identify exemplary safety, security, emergency preparedness and incident prevention practices in the commercial property field, as well as to educate members about security and life safety assessment, planning tools, and range of preparedness options available.



Emerging Leaders

Matt Ardaiz, chair

BOMA Sacramento’s Emerging Leaders Committee focuses on the development and growth of professionals who are 35 or younger or have less than eight years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. The Emerging Leaders Committee plans and executes networking and educational events while working with BOMA Sacramento’s Steering Committee to encourage all young professionals to participate in the educational offerings and networking opportunities, which allow them to expand their knowledge and build relationships within the industry.



Programs

SARA Jackson, chair

The Programs Committee is charged with enhancing the public image, prestige and influence of the association through coordination of monthly luncheon programs and speakers to include civic and business leaders with the purpose of engaging Principal member attendance, which in turn drives Allied member engagement. The Programs Committee also has oversight of BOMA Cares, which is BOMA Sacramento’s philanthropic arm as it collects and distributes charitable donations. Through these endeavors, the Program Committee publicizes the purposes, programs and activities of BOMA Sacramento to members, the commercial real estate industry and the general public.
